Owning a creative space can be exciting but it’s also a massive commitment. Every studio owner strives to maintain their clientele, whether it’s a recording studio or photography studio. It’s all about learning how to market your space effectively, here are some tips to grab people’s attention and fill in those time slots.
Showcase the space
Online will most likely be their first introduction to your studio so make it count! Use high-quality photos and video tours of the space so customers can visualise using the space, it helps build an emotional connection. Sell your story on all platforms, always showcase your studio’s atmosphere, values and aesthetic as this is what will draw people in. Even showing behind the scene footage holds value as customers nowadays prefer realism and authenticity, making them more likely to book. Make sure to include all the extra equipment and unique features you offer. By doing all this, it will help influence their decision and make customers more likely to not only fill up slots but come back.
Showcase your credibility
Collect reviews and client testimonials, these help build a trustworthy reputation and helps sell more studio time as it gives customers more confidence in their decisions. This also helps you hold your own against your competitors. Use user-generated content to your advantage, re-post them on your story or include them on your website as this will help show your credibility and authenticity. Also, collaborate with local artists, events and projects, as networking can encourage word of mouth referrals and create loyal customers.
Strategic Pricing
Try and have pricing packages and strategic promotions for example, deals for first timers where new comers can book for a discounted price. Or promotions during off-peak hours, which will entice people to make multiple bookings and can be a useful tactic to ensure the studio is in use at all hours, minimising quiet hours. You could offer bundled packages where you get better deals if there are add on equipment or other services, this will encourage customers to have longer bookings.
We are primarily a recording studio. But we also double up as a rehearsal studio as well. So, all throughout the day, there's teaching that goes on here. Podcasting recordings, [and] bands all the way from originals to cover bands.
